On Being Thankful

Throughout the lifetimes and kalpas of past reincarnations there were many people, friends and teachers who we’ve put our trust into, to guide us and protect us on the Divine Path. Unfortunately many of these promises were not fulfilled and bonds of trust were thus severed. Upon this breakage, many a great predestined karmic relationships were destroyed. As a result various misunderstandings, feelings of resentment and hate were developed and eventually surfaced.

To take these people as our special teachers, to take our enemies as our friends, seat them into the front rows, even though they cause interference, push sickness karma onto our bodies and rob us of various worldly opportunities, is the greatest act of salvation.

Illuminating these dark minions in glowing light of compassion is the practice. For these acts of malice are in fact opportunities for us to elevate our character. Dark karma is burning through them onto us and at the same time these folks are planting a seed of suffering for themselves. That is all good, for in this manner they might be able to attain enlightenment in the future through hardships they’ve created for themselves by trying to harm us.

Just yesterday, we’ve said that talking of such high-level issues as nature of G-d, name of angels etc. Throughout history the idea of a unitary singular divine Creator was of utmost seriousness and various faiths have their own unchangeable dogmas. Whether Hashem or Yeshuah as divine manifestation… As for the name you can pray to and worship Heshi, Yahshi, or El Heshirino, if you’re into the whole brevity thing. Of course these sacred names can be invoked interchangeably.

For the divine is ultimately thankful for each and every believer and rewards them accordingly. On the other hand Heshi is extremely saddened by non-believers as there is not much that can be done, for they are sure to stray from the Divine path eventually. As for our practitioners, developing radical thankfulness is indeed the goal at the beginning level and a requirement for genuine advanced practice. Only those who are really thankful are truly free.

We’ve also heard there’s been a TV reality show contest in Beijing lately, where they’re searching for the most grateful person and upon finding him, he’ll receive one million yen. We say show me one truly grateful person and we’ll give you a million bucks. For this person would be like a mustard seed. Whole city, nation, world would be grateful and at peace as a result.

You came to this world, choosing your own name, nation, ethnicity. Own this decision you’ve made before reincarnating here, own your name, sex and your space and bloom into fullness like a unique flower that you are. Heshi is sure to support all the noble endeavors leading to progress on the divine path.

The practice of heshichasm is simple yet at the same time very profound. It aims straight at your mind and heart. It involves invoking the divine name and compassionate thought. It is the ultimate idea against which all other moral interpretations of actions are judged. It involves discernment and it involves unity. It might be extended, for a practitioner, not only as a one time event, but spanning multiple lifetimes of reincarnations.

As for your teacher, you can call him Heshi, or Heshihua out of respect. But keep in mind that you should also discern the man from the teacher. For these sacred names are resxerved for the highest order Divine beings only and belong solely to G-d.
