MindCœur Advisory Statement on Editorial Boundaries within Minghui
Introduction
MindCœur acknowledges the significant contribution of Minghui in preserving the historical record of Falun Dafa practitioners’ experiences, particularly under conditions of persecution.
The site has long provided a valuable service by documenting events, offering testimony, and strengthening global awareness of human rights violations.
At the same time, concerns have arisen regarding the scope of Minghui’s editorial role. Reports suggest that editors have, on occasion, crossed from documentation into judgment, thereby
influencing perceptions of individual practitioners and shaping community discourse in ways that extend beyond the proper limits of editorial responsibility.
Observed Concerns
-
Editorial Authority vs. Spiritual Judgment
Minghui’s strength lies in recording events faithfully. When editors pronounce upon the legitimacy of practitioners or publicly designate individuals as “negative elements,”
the line between reporting and adjudication becomes blurred.
-
Concentration of Roles
In some cases, individuals appear to serve both as editors of Minghui and as leaders within Falun Dafa Associations. This dual role risks consolidating authority in ways
that discourage open dialogue and may foster perceptions of partiality.
-
Impact on Community Trust
Labeling or excluding practitioners can create divisions within the Falun Dafa community, potentially discouraging sincerity, diversity of experience, and honest self-cultivation.
Trust is maintained not through control, but through openness and fairness.
Guiding Principles for Editorial Integrity
MindCœur recommends the following measures to safeguard the integrity of Minghui and the wider community:
-
Separation of Roles – Editorial functions should remain distinct from association leadership and governance.
Editors should serve as custodians of record, not as arbiters of legitimacy.
-
Transparency of Criteria – Clear, consistent standards for the acceptance, revision, or rejection of submissions should be articulated.
Decisions should rest on factual accuracy and relevance, not personal alignment or organizational standing.
-
Inclusivity and Representation – A platform of record must reflect the breadth of practitioners’ experiences.
By allowing diversity of voices, Minghui strengthens its credibility and its service to truth.
Advisory Conclusion
MindCœur offers these reflections not as criticism, but as guidance. The enduring value of Minghui lies in its faithfulness to its founding purpose: documenting truth without bias,
recording history without judgment, and amplifying voices without exclusion.
By maintaining clarity of role, transparency of process, and inclusivity of perspective, Minghui can continue to embody the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance—principles
that transcend organizational politics and uphold the dignity of Falun Dafa as a whole.
