The gateless gate is open and manifests right before your eyes in this present time and in this material dimension. Bodhidharma’s disciples tried to describe Buddha using various means. The second patriarch cut off his arm. An enlightened monk said that Buddha is a dry-poop scraper. He was indeed very poor and didn’t plan things in advance. Yet have you ever heard a Christian proclaim that the Messiah is a toilet brush? The decline of Buddhism happened in the blink of an eye. Fifty-two generations of venerable teachers went down the drain. Two hundred sixty-five Christian popes and monks today still have space to explore mystical ideas. Wherein lies the root of these two different approaches?
Certain governments recently passed laws that allow police to spy on their citizens. In the past, this was illegal, but nowadays everyone has access to your phone, address, bank accounts, medical records, and all other personal information. This is the state of ordinary human society. Some governments have passed laws against religions. Leaders of these religions, politicians, and the mafia all work together to push forward their own personal agendas. In the past, this would have been classified as worshiping the seven principal demons. Mammon dominates the world’s people. It crushes their ability to think and to live a peaceful existence.
Some people did not understand the original mysticism of orthodoxy. They think that it is enough to pray and repent, and God then forgives them for all of their sins. This is just the beginning stage of the purification of body and mind. Advanced prayers, altar candle rituals, contemplation, and spiritual ecstasy lead one to higher knowledge unattainable by ordinary people who are lost in the delusion of the world and torn by various attachments.
Why did mystics of the past always prefer isolated places, quiet, and peaceful environments? It is not because they were unable to cultivate among the chaos of ordinary human society. It was because the societies of the past were extremely violent and uncultured. Nowadays, things are a little bit better.
Warmongers who perpetuate violence and wars to gain material wealth or push their twisted ideas of power have lost all contact with reality. Their minds are gone. Demons used these people to test humankind, and angels in heaven have no way of exercising their divine might. The cultivators of the world lost direction on the path to heaven. True teachings are being stained by the egoistic actions of passive, aggressive, manipulative individuals hidden within these religious structures.
The Savior does not conquer by force. Your master does not need to tell you what to do at this point. Many of our disciples are perfectly capable of discerning good from evil. Hurry up and explain the truth to those still lost in delusion. Saving people is the mission for which you came to this low place. Gain mighty virtue in the process. Wake up those still lost in delusion and fulfill your prehistoric vows!
